It is afavorite pastime of the Ottawa Free Press—of which our friend Gorman, formerly of the Summerside Progress, 18 editor—to illustrate the dissatisfaction and general unpleasantness which are said to exist in the Conservative party, by publish- ing interviews with (always) prominent Con- servatives and leading Tories, who, having been seized with an uncontrollable desire of telling ali they know, fall at Gorman’s feet (where, the Lord knows, there is plenty of room for three at a time) and open their grief. Nor will they be satisfied and re- signed until the said Gorman promises them forthwith to publish all they have told him, and a great deal more, in the Free Press, which he does right up to time. Then the Free Press goes abroad and the St. John Telegraph, aud the Hali- fax Chronicle, and the Charlottetown Patriot, and last but not least (two or three weeks afterwards) the Summerside Pioneer , reprint all these confessions of pemtent Tories and humbug their innocent readers. |
