EASTERN AssuRANCE Co. oF CANADA.— Me:srs. John Doull, President, and Charles D. Cory, Secretary of above company, have arrived here for the purpose of placing the portion of stock allotted to Prince Edward Island. The above company is incorporated by a special Act of the Dominion Parliament, and has an authorized capital of one million dollars, of which some eight hundred thousand has been already subscribed for by the leading merchants, manufacturers and capitalists in

The idea of the promoters is to keep at home for investment a portion of this money, and to build up in our midst a strong Fire Insurance Office, which, in time, will take front rank among the financial in- stitutions of Canada. The promoters have our best wishes for their entire success— which, with such a stock list, seems already assured News Noies.
