Sucred Song Service Hold At Peter's Road

A very lovely and inspiring tiHt.'li- ed song service was held in the Peter's Road Presbyterian Church on Wednesday evening. The church was filled to capacity. The sr-rvicc was conducted by the minister. Rev. Carl Currie. who took for his text ”0h Sing Untr the Lord A New Song”. The service opened with the Doxology., followed by the congregation and choir singing "Oh, Worship The King".

Reading of the scripture followed by Rev. Mr. Currie.

The song service was as follows:

"Jesus Saviour Pilot Me" and "Wandering Child Come Home" by the male octet of Trinity United Church, Charlottetown: congregat- ional hymn ”Awake My Soul"; a quartette consisting of Mr. and Mrs. Neil A. Truck Accident

A 1954 55- ton truck crashed through the railing at Bridgetown Saturday evening about 8.00 p. m.. damaging the truck considerably and leaving the railing ruined. Three men were in the truck. whicti was proceeding from Souris to Montague. but only one required a row stlchcs to a cut on his wrist. The Souris detachment H.C. M. P. were investigating.

Be it resolved that all teachers take a firm stand on the matter of holidays thus doing away.with fall holidays.

Whereas it is the feeling of this convention that the salary com- mittee is too representative of the City of Charlottetown therefore be it resolved that the newly appointed members of the Board of Governors request a new com- mlttee more representative of rural teachers.

Be it resolved that the teachers of the Charlottetown rural. assem- bled in annual convention pledge their support to the Board of Governors in their efforts to im- prove the status of education in this Province and to bring to the proper authorities the enadequacy of the present salary scale for the teachers of this Province.

Be it resolved that some special remuneration be given by the Government to teachers holding degrees.

Be it resolved that future Char- lottetown rural conventions be held on daylight saving time provided it is in effect in the City.
