sions to the forces of the insurgents aud the appearance of various fanatics who are endeavoring to stir those tribesmen who are reluctant to join the revolt to attack the British. There is every probability tbat an attack wi:l be made by the British at some point within a few days.

A report comes from Quetta, Beluchis- tan, to the eifect that the militia there have beecome dieaftected; but the rumor is not credited in Government circles.

Orrawa, Sept. 2.—Hon. Mr. Tarte to Europe next month.

A militia general order has been issued to the effect that service as a non-commis- sioned officer in the regular army hereafter cannot qualify as ano officer in the active militia for a higher substantive rank than that of second lieutenant.

The Premier reached here last p'ght and was well received.

Wasnincron, Aug. 3L.—The fuil report of the Venezuelan boundary commission has just come from the press in the shape of Volume I, devoted to the historical portion of the work undertaken by the commission. This report, previously rent to Congress, is short and wainly de- voted to an explanation of the labors of the various experts employed, and nowhere is there any indication that the com- | wiseion itself has arrived at any conclusion as to the merits of the respective claims of Great Britain and Venezuela.

New York, August 31.— Unless Charles A. Kuenzel, of 260 Eleventh street, Ho- boken, changes his mind or eomething breaks an airship expedition to the Klon- dike gold regions will start from Gutten- berg race track about three weeks from now. Mr. Kuenzel is an old German | soldier, who served in the balloon department of the Emperor’s army. He is a practical mechanical engineer, aud has been workiug on airships for years. He las made several tucceseful secen- sions, avd thinks he has solved the pro- blem of navigation of the atmosphere, regardless of the wind.
