Kensington High School

Holds Closing

'Parents, relatives and friends packed the Kensington High School Auditorium on Thursday evening for the comencemet ex- ercises when the graduating class, and the students of grade 9, 10_and 11 received passing cer- tificates, diplomas and prizes. for his report on the year’s work.

Hall reviewed the many student activities carried out suc- déssfully. He expressed apprecia- tion of the cooperation received f1ij the School Board, the teach- mg staff, the janitors, the Home and School Association and others during his three years as princ- ipal, and wished the students every success in their work. Mr. Hall has accepted a professor- ship at Acadia University.

Murphy each received gifts on behalf of the students, presented by Marjorie Riley, Sheila Caseley, Myrna Semple, George Doughart and Norman Moase. Mr. Murphy who has accepted a teaching position in Summers-ide. High School responded, reviewing events of the past 12 years as teacher of Kensington Schools, and especially of the completion of the fine new edifice now oc- cupied by the High School.

Miss Margaret Murray as val- edictorian, said, ‘This marks not the end of our education but the widening of an open door.’ 'Speak— lug of the privilege of an educa- tion, she said that privilege en. tails a responsibility. ‘

Rev. Keith Hobson, pastor of Summerside Baptist Church ad- dressed tihe graduates and con. gaatulated them on their attain- ment.
