The Kleaner was muttering to -himself, and with the amazement of a Buffalo with fleas, the Master Broom heard the Kleaner say. “Master Broom I’m going to put you out to pasture old boy, you’er just plum wore out,_ and very hairless.” I have just the place for you. I’m going to cut off the wore-off stubble bristles, and you’ll make a good sturdy stake for some lucky tomato plant in the Kleaner’s garden this summer, you’re so sturdy and slender, but jut a bit too long, though. I need a perch for one of the bird houses in the garden, you’ll do just fine.” The Old Master Broom had a new lease on life, and smiled ever so broadly, as the Kleaner made preparations to make the Master Broom useful as a “protector of the tomato plant”, and a sub- stantial perch for a bird house. '
