Property Deal

lt. was learned frrun the reading of the minutes of a sprclal meet- ing of the Ccuncll on January 26th that the Council had author- ized an exchange of the Saunders property with the Federal Gov- ernment for the Allen property on which to build the new Federal building.

The TOWII is to receive the sum of 8112.500 in the exchange. On motion of Councillor J. L Gorrill. seconded by Councillor J. L. Drls- coll, Mr. T. Earle Hickey charter- ed atcoimtant. was appointed town auditor for the year at the sum of $600.00.

0n motion of Councillor Goirrill. seconded by Councillor Driscoll the Council was authorized to borrow the sum of one hundred thousand dollars and to issue debentures which will mature in fifteen years. On motion of the same Coutu- cillors the next session of the Leg- islature will be asked to amend the Town Incorporation Act to en- a-ble the Town to borrow up to $300000 to pay for ihe extension to the electric light plant and other capital expenditures.
