MONTAGUE — Word has been received by relatives here of ' the death of Miss Elizabeth C. lMarDouald. RN. in Brentwood ; Veterans' Hospital. Los Angeles. ‘ Calif. She was the last surviving i member of the family of the late John and Catherine (Mc- i Innis) MacDonald of Whim Road. She was 90 years of age.

Miss MacDonald graduated from the Elliott City Hospital, Keene. NH, and took post- graduate training at the Pres- ‘ byterian Hospital in Chicago. She began her nursing career in Montana and from there moved to California where she was the joint owner of the East Side Maternity Hospital in Long Beach.

When the United States enter- ed the First World War. Miss MacDonald was one of the first to enlist in the Army Nurses Corps and served at the Mars- sur-Allier base hospital. ERRONEOUS REPORT

Much later it was found that it was another nurse by th same name but with the initial ‘L’ that had been mistakenly identified as her. However re- latives believed the erroneous report of her death for months.

After the war, Miss MacDon- ald returned to Long Beach. Calif., where she continued to practice her profession until retirement several years ago.

Surviving her are a number of nephews and nieces. including Colin and Lester MacDonald. Mrs. George Clarey and Miss Rena MacDonald of Whim Road.
