Wm. Druse,a farmer ion moderate circumstances, living in the town of Warren, Herkimer covniry, three miles from Richfield, New York, has been missing for a week. He had frequent quarrels with his wife, and it was sup- posed by the neighbors that she had murdered him. A nephew, aged 18 years, has coofessed that his aunt shet her husband, and then with the assis- tance of himself and her son burned the body and buried the bones. The parties are all under arrest and an inquest is in progress.

The Lendon Land Agents’ Recerd says: “I have not heard what rent Lord Rosebery pays for Lansdowne Hoase, but I should imagine not less than £2,- G00 a year, which 1 am told was the reot paid by Lord Palmerston for Cambridge House. The Duke of Abercorn is uederstood to have paid £1,500, snd subsequently £2,000 for Chesterfield House. 1 imagine that these are the highest rentals which have been paid in London bythe year. The highest weekly rent 1 know of was paid by Louis Philippe’s widow for Chaucellor House. Tunbridge Wells, 50 guineas a week, and the Duke of Aber- corn paid 48 guineas for the same house.”
