Each branch is so closely linked with the others that even a weak link in the chain results in dis- aster. this thought must be borne in mind by those considering any of the aspects in relation to poul- try dlseases. Certain diseases that are quite common elsewhere have not as yet made their appearance here, and some diseases that are very widespread some years are rarely encountered in others. Diagnosis of diseases in order to control the death rate in a flock. it is obvious that the first step is recognition of the cause of death. No line of treatment whether such exists can be in- telligently recuirirncnded unless the cause is known, quite often is correct diagnosis at once suggest: a remedy, this frequently requires some skill and experience, quite comprehensive knowledge of healthy organs and parts and changes that occur in them when diseased. In many instances a complete history of the case is of valuable assistance.

Poultry Disease Laboratory.

A poultry disease laboratory is maintained at your agricultural laboratory in Charlottetown for the purpose of assisting the poul- try owncr in combating problems in relation to diseases. When help is needed along these lines birds may be sent in for examination. It is always more satisfactory to forward more than one bird to the laboratory, as quite often when only one bird is sent in it does not represent the flock

Sir Gilbert Wainwright, U.B.E, Jamaica, British West Indies, is a visitor to Charlottetown, and is the guest of his friends, Mr. and Mrs. K.R. Elliott, 29 ,Longivortxh Ave. Sir Uil-berl: and Mr. Elliott, who is now manager of the Charlottetown brancii of the Biihk of Nova Scotia. have been friends since their meet- ing in Jamaica when Mr. Elliott became manager of the Branch there.
