3K. OI‘ C. BANQUET - ‘The annual banquet of the Bouris Council, Knights of Columbus was held in the Courwil Qhembere on Wednesday evening, December 1. The inaction. arranged by the Council lecturer, E. Foch MacDon- ald. and his committee, was pre- sided over by J. Arthur Peter, Grand Knight o! the Council. Dr. W. J. P. MacMlllan. the guest speaker for the occasion, in an eloquent address reviewed the great work accomplished by the Knights o! Columbus during the war and explained how the or- ganization through the medium c! national advertising, was better acqualnting the world with certain aspects of tiho Catholic religion quite often misunderstood by people not of that faith. The speaker warned against Commun- istic trends gradually infiltrating into the Canadian way of life and exhorted eveiry loyal Canadian and particularly every Knight of Col- umbus to be quick to detect tihcse and do everything possible to stamp them out. A vote of thanks io the speaker was moved by J. Brenton St. John, and seconded by Alex. T. MacDonald. The tol- lowing toasts were proposed: "The King"; "Our Church", Rev. T.
