The girls learned to make the "H" fire made toast and heated beans. The! smacked their lips over the sand wlches-we have invented the best ever. hot toast and baked beans When we had finished everything was left epic and span. Timmy. the dog. who never misses a g.uI1e meeting. was there too and sat un as if expecting to be enrolled with the girls. Freda Resting is a splendid little Patrol Leader and had the girls well prepared. They are starting in again making hos- pital bags. We have now made over 1.500 for the Prince ounty Hospital. I have a plan which I hope to work out this winter that is to have in turn. each of my Patrols. come in to be entertalneJ at a Bummerside Guide meeting They are seven at stanchel with a prospective recruit in . ew."

A double wedding ceremony of interest to a wide circle of friends was performed on Thursday. Aug. 17th. at the Church of the Most Holy Redeemer when Stella Alvera Cevanagh was united in the holy bonds of matrimony to Lorne Ger- ald. son of Mr. and Mrs. Horace Sobey. and Mary Evelyn Cavsnagh to Charles Livingstone. son of Mrs. Ernest Currie.

During -the ceremony Mrs. Arthur Murray rendered approp- riate hymns accompanied by Mr. Alex McLean. church organist. The brides. given in marriage by their father. were similarly dressed in white satin gowns de- signed with fined bodice and full skirts. Their fingertip veils of em- broidered net were caught with headdreases of pearl and rhine- stones and they carried bouquets of red carnatlcns.

The W. M. S. of the Presbyter- ian Church, Kenslngton, held their September meeting at the home of Mrs. John Walker on Wednesday afternoon. Sept. 6th.

Mrs. Walker. vice-president, con- ducted the devotional period and opened the meeting with the "call to worship" paalm 34:16 and prayer Psalm 104 was sung. The theme was "The harvest is the end of the world” and an expos- ition was read by Mrs. D. L. Bealrsto. .

The scripture lesson was taken from Matthew 13, chapter 24-39. and read responsively. followed by prayer by Mrs. A. N.-Humphrey. Mrs. James Jardine. Mrs. Alex Hiltz. and hymn 588, "O Where Are The Reapers" was sung. Four- teen members aniwered the roll call with a verse of scripture. One visitor present. Minutes of last meeting was read by the secre- tary. Mrs. Alex Hlltz and adopted.

The president, Mrs. Brewer Linkletter. then took over Lhe business period. One new mem- ber was added to the roll. The visiting committee reported sev- eral sick calls. There was some discussion on the Autumn Thank- offering service. but this was ad- journed for the October meeting. The president announced the an- nual meeting of the . M. S. Eastern Division to be held in Halifax. N. S.. on Sept. 21 and 28. but no delegate was appointed. A chapter from the study book "Stranger Than Fiction". by Rev. James Dickson. was read by Mrs. Horace Heckbert. after which the president called on Mrs. John walker who read an address to Mrs. James Jardlne. regretting her departure from the society and expressing appreciation to her as an ever faithful member and aa- suring her that her loss from the church and the different societies associated would be keenly felt. But it is known that the loss will be a gain to .Iliother W. M. S. and will still be working together in the Master's service. -The regular monthly meeting of Inishtown W. I. was held one week earlier than usual, at the home of Mrs. Thomas and Mrs. Clair Campbell. With the presi- dent in the chair. the meeting opened with the Ode and Creed. Roll call was answered with "My Birthplace."

Mrs. Clayton Staveri. reported the sum of s62.25 realized at the pantry sale and bazaar at Hol- man's, Suzmnerslde.

Ten book sections of poetry by John Robert Lamont Campbell were sold.

The sick committee reported and appointed a new committee: Mrs. George MacLeod. Mrs. Halsey Pro- fiit and Mrs. Clayton Staveri. Mrs. Borden Campbell was ap- pointed as the school committee for one month. Several members reported cleaning the school. One member expressed her thanks for a treat received.

In response to a request for bright ideas for raising money, Mrs. James MacLeod came up with a suggestion for a community auction sale at the new hall. This was developed to include a sale of lunches and a rummage sale. Mrs. George MacLcod. Mrs.
