Proceedings of the Meeting at North River.

North River, July 4th. The meeting of the aseociation opened ai ine usual bour. The report on education was taken from the table and after disenssion participate i in by Revde. A F Browne, A. Cohoon, Dr.

Tue report on missions was then taken up, and aftera lively discussion of the meth ods of prosecuting mission work and the comparative value, of different fielde, was ad pied.

‘The afternoon ression was devoted largely to the discussion of the temperance report, which was j}-omewbat rads! in some of its tendencies and was amended in some cf iteclauses. The lack of time preven'ed thediecussion of the entire report and it wae laid on the table indefinitely.

The evening session was devoted to the public discussion of temperance. Despite the violent burst of wind and rain which came upon North River at the time of the gathering the seating capacity was taxed to its utmost, Tire pastors who had come to the province duriog the past year —Rev A F Brown, © W Turner, (Li-.), Rev E J Grant, and AG Whitman. Mr. Alfred E. Macneill, holding au academic first-class diploma, has been appointed a teacver in West Kent School. Mr. Macneil is a son of Dr. Macneill, of Stanley.
