The way to make people temper- ate in this as in every other Pro- vince. is by education. The Premier does not believe very much in that. perhaps. There was an application made from the secretory of the Temperance Alliance that he or someone else be allowed to go through the schools of the Province preaching that doctrine. The Pre- mier did not agree with him that it. should be done. Perhaps he was right; I think myself that he was perfectly righoeimtrhat ‘matter; but it shows the difficulties he has got_ into. He could not avoid them} when he made the serious blunderi of linking himself up with any or-

In this matter of scripts the doc- tcrs are the “goats" under the Pro- hibition Act. and have been for years. We donit want to have uny- thing to do with the Act. if we can get rid of it. Every doctor knows that. that it is a great nuisance. narcotic poison. and if it should not. be prescribed by doctors. it. might as well be kept in the drug stores the slime as other narcotic. poisons.
