The funeral of Mrs. Fred Mac- Donald of Hampton was held on Tuesday afternoon. Jan. 25th. A short service was held at the home thence to St. John Anglican Church, Crapaud, with interment in the Church cemetery. The late Mrs. MacDonald was 8'7, of quiet friendly disposi ion, she was be- loved by all who knew her. The service was conducted by her pas- tor the Rev. Mr. Fream, in which he paid high tribute to her char- acter.

Central Royalty Women's Institute was held in the school on Feb. 3rd. 1949. The president presided and opened the meeting with the sing- ing of the Ode and repeating the Creed. Roll call was answered with a Valentine verse by sixteen mem- bers. Two new members were wel- comed. Minutes were resd and ap- proved. Committees were heard from. Several pieces of work were handed in to the Red Cross con- vener. A card party held in the school ln January was s success with $25.66 realized. Another card party is to be held in February. Correspondence was read and dis- cussed. A letter from the T. B. League was read end discussed. It was moved to send a donation and to write a letter asking if the X- ray unit would visit the school. West Royalty W. I. accepted the invitation to visit Central Royalty W. I. on Feb. 11th. Plans were dis- cussed and committees appointed. New committees were appointed: School, Mrs. Ward, Mrs. Wright; Lunch. Mrs. Arthur. Mrs. Buchan- an. Mrs. Cheverle, Mrs. Wright. Hostess is Mrs. Ward.
Collection amounted to $1.65.
Roll call for March is an Irish

On February 1 Mrs. Ray Lockerby was hostess to the regular meeting of Hamilton W. I. The meeting opened in the usual manner. Roll call was answered with an ex- change of valentines which will be sent to a boy who is ill at home.
Motions were carried that the Institute pay the postage on the last overseas parcel and that each member donate an article for the next one. It was moved and sec- onded that the Institute buy new yellow blinds for the school.
A card party was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Phil- lips during the month with a good amount realized.
A motion was carried that the Institute pay for books for the school amounting to $11.60.
Other bills were presented and on motion paid, Receipts were forty cents for rental of freezer, twenty- five cent membership fee and coi- lection of $1.36.

Crosier auctioned s num- ber ot articles which brought the gratifying sum of fourteen dollars and twenty-live cents.

The regular monthly meeting of the Alberry Plains Women's Insti- tute was held on February 2, at the home of Mrs. Brendon Cur- ran, with eight membe . present.
The meeting opened by the sing- ing of the Institute Ode, followed by the Club Women's Creed in uni- son. Roll call was then answered by an exchange of valentines.
The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. Corre- spondence was then read. It was decided to have Mr. Martin, direc- tor of National Film Board, come to the school on January 15, to present an educational film. It was also decided to have a sale of candy and an auction of cakes at same. Mrs. Norman MacMillan and Mrs. Frank Hynes were ap- pointed on the new school commit- tee. '
A remaining 75c was paid for cot- ton remnants.
It was decided that the president and secretary, with the assistance of the other members, write ma-
terial for the next issue of the-In- stitute News.
Lottery for the evening amount- ed to 80 cents. A contest, put on by Mrs. John Praught, was won by Miss Abigail Collings.
Next meeting to be held at the home of Mrs. Frank Hynes. Roll call is to be answered by an Irish joke.
A delicious lunch was then serv- ed, and the meeting closed with The King.
KINGSTON W. I.
The regular meeting of the King- ston W. I. met at the home of Mrs. Bertram Willis on Thursday evening, Feb. 3rd. The meeting opened by singing the Institute Ode and repeating the Creed in unison. Roll Call was answered by 12 membe s and 4 visitors pre- sent. Minutes of last meeting were read, approved and signed. An organ was purchased for the school.

Several thank you letters were read for treats sent. A donation of $2 was gratefully acknowledged.
