This small insect-eating bird can be seen in small flocks on

P.E.I. during the winter. They breed here and are very common year-round residents.

This woodland "small fry", is easily identified by the call which sounds like PEE-A-WEE.

Name any whitish bird that frequents open fields on P.E.I.

during the winter but does not breed here.

What is the bird which "sports" the most yellow and breeds on P.E.I. (DO NOT SAY THE AMERICAN GOLDFINCH OR EVENING GROSBEAKI)?

This large bird pushes northward roughly in step with the advance of the 2°C isotherm. The bird is very abundant on P.E.I. in spring and autumn but few breed here. _ In flight this bird shows a "black cap",'a forked tail and it has a tendency to hover while feeding in coastal areas. .

Name one colonial—nesting bird which migrates by P.E.I. and has excellent down which is often collected from nest-sites by man.

Colonies of these birds occur in several locations on the Island where their crudely constructed nests can be seen in trees.

Many colonies of these "black" diving fish-eating birds have been destroyed by fishermen who feel they are serious predators.

This insect-eating bird has such short legs that it often sits on a tree branch parallel to the direction of the branch.

If you were to see a robin-sized bird sitting on a telephone wire along a road on P.E.I. it would most likely be this bird.

Theseaggressivefresh-water marsh birds are very common on P.E.I. and indeed are considered to be one of the most numerous birds in the world.

One only occasionally sees these tiny birds feeding on nectar but they do breed on P.E.I.

Other than woodcock this is the only member of shore—bird family which is legal to hunt on P.E.I.

This "horned" sparrow—sized bird is common along the roadsides of P.E.I. during the spring.
