Neweast.e, Aug. 3.—Johnu McLellan. aged thirteea years, was drowned this norning near the ferry slip. opposite Neweastle. The accident occurred about 11 o'clock. As soon as news came over apumber of townsfolk repaired to the spot to drag for the body. At noon those engaged in dragging were seen to leave the water and assemble on shore as if the body had been found and efforts being made to restore life. The lad isa son of trackmaster McLellan, of the I. C. R., whois at present absent from home.

LatER:—Drs. McLearn ard Fish were over and used every means to re- suscitate him, but without avail. The body has been brought to towa.—Globe.
