Dan Valkos - Ghost Hunter

On the evening, of November the first, I entered the Barn with great expectations of electrifying ghost stories that would give me nightmares for at least a month. I was going to see Dan Valkos - the ghost hunter.

Needless to say, Dan didn’t tell ghost stories that would induce nightmares, but he did have lots to say about ghosts. Mr. Valkos assured the audience that ghosts aren’t harmful. In most cases, Mr. Valkos explained, ghosts are just pictures of the past. They are certain incidences which have already taken place and may continue to "happen" repeatedly. For example, he told the audience of one particular "picture of the past" in which a lady would walk across a’ hallway in a house at same time every night.

Mr. Valkos, also talked of ghosts which are bound to the earth by intense feclings whether it be love, hate or guilt. He spoke of an example where a young person might have intense feelings of guilt after having committed suicide.

The third type of ghost which Mr. Valkos mentioned was that of a living person. Some of us may have experienced astral projection, the body without a soul is technically dead, until the soul returns to the body.

Over the years, Dan Valkos has been in over 400 haunted houses. Mr. Valkos listened three reasons why people will haunt a house. Some people just don’t want to leave. Others don’t realize that they’re dead, and some even feel guilty because they may have done something like commit suicide.

There was another very interesting topic which Mr. Valkos covered - it was poltergeist activity. He explained that slamming doors or the like are not always done by ghosts as a person might suspect, but by the unconscious, uncontrolled release of energy of a person.

Dan explained that these were releases of telekinitic energy, and that the person who is releasing these energies is usually not aware of it.

Some of the things that Dan Valkos does not believe in include: demons, possession, and Ouija boards. When we use Ouija boards, the information supposedly comes from our own psychic minds, according to Mr. Valkos.

I know that a lot of the ideas that were presented by Dan Valkos are hard to swallow, but he certainly seemed to believe in what he was talking about.

’ To sum up, Id like to include that Mr. Valkos is a

psychic as well as an author. He teaches psychic development classes and has given lectures at numerous campuses. So, all in all, he’s a well- rounded person.
