Inquest Concludes At Tracadie Cross

A coroner's jury yesterday de- oided that the deaths In an auto- mobile accident of Alfred Pyke, 26 and Leigh Moore. l8. of Milburn. PEI. were accidental. The men. in a Ford roadster, were killed ln-i stantly Tuesday when the ear left the paved highway at Trac- adie Crossing here and plunged over an embankment.

The jury in its verdict said ox- cessive speed and inexperienced driving might have been contribut- ing factors. A rider contained a recommendation that a strong guard rail be placed at the curve where the accident occurred. Coroner Dr. I. J. Yeo of Char- lottctown conducted the hearing. hcld at Tracadie Cross. Witnesses included, Raymond stull, manager of the Island Mo- tor Transport Company at Char- lottetown; Ernest Rossiter, Moreli; Fred Jay, Marie; Alvin Robins, Milbum: Harold MacDonald. Mount Stewart; and Constable M. F. Hagan of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.

Evidence indicated that the two men, en route to Charlottetown, left Mount Stewart, a few mlies from the scene of the accident about 4 o'clock. Their bodies were discovered by school children about an hour later. No one saw

A Provincial Committee of the Canadian Youth Commission was formed last night at n. meeting held in the Assembly Room of the Provincial Building. Representa- tives were present from more than a dozen organizations, schools. churches and clubs.

. Ralph McLean cf Prince of Wales College was clcctcci chair- man of the organization and Dr. H. L. Johnston of St. Duustans College will act as vicc-cliairlnan.

This newly formed body will co-operate with the Canadian Youth Commission in the formula- tion of proposals relative to the welfare of Canadian youths. The Commission is engaged in a study of problems among young jicople 15-24 years of age. Recommenda- tions will be made to govern- ment bodies as well as to private agencies which deal with people.

A number of youth groups int Charlottetown have already i11- dicated willingness to prepare briefs for the Youth Commission.
