Although we have no idea of chronicleing the proceedings, we uiust not omit to notice a meet- ing that took lace last night in the garret of the old Court louse, for the purpose we believe, of nominating Mr. John 'l‘reuuInan in place of the Iilin-al candidate, Mr. I-‘ound, who was unable to qualify. If the persons who constituted the meeting had made good progress in Political Reform, they had entirely omitted to take cognizance of the soci and personal reform going on around them. The young lady, we understand, has not comp her eighteenth year; and by this sudden and unexpected event has lun ed her mother and sisters in the deepesgt a iction. Capt.
