Stockings for the baby of summer, her first-born. asleep in the cozy wooden cradle, she rocked odd times, touching it gently with her toe. He was a pretty child. who grew up to be but what tales of the years we could tell!

Again night-skies are cold. there is a frosty sheen to the moonlight, and in the stars that keep their watch above the white fields. And bedtime is near.

Holding is toning. straight. swing rearward and Again ing the leg forward. knee again hold. Repeat 12 swings. reverse side and swing with right leg.

Finish with a leg circling exer- cise from this same position of lying on side, Raise top leg and make wide. slow circles, leading with the heel. The regular, monthly meeting of Riverdaie- Churchill Women's Institute was held at the home of Mrs. Guy MacI..eod. with a good at A of h a and ivlsitors. The meeting opened in usual way. Roll call was re- sponded to by naming a "Fa- mous Person". Minutes of last meeting were read and approved.

A motion was made. that all bills pertaining to Christmas. be paid. Correspondence was read by secretary. Letters of thanks for gifts received at Christmas were also read by the secretary. The teacher reported the school to be in need of a globe. It was decided that the teacher be auth- orized to buy the globe for the school.

A vote of thanks was extend- ed to teachers and pupils for cleaning the school. Correspon- dence was read and discussed. It was moved and seconded to give to March of Dimes, it wasvdecided to have a social evening in the hall Feb. 10.

College Girl Has lnlerioriiy Complex

DEAR MARY HAWORTH: My niece Paula, I), la a sophomore in a nearby university. and a member of several clubs and a social sorority. All of which sounds wonderful, but she is very unhappy. due to an inferiority complex and the inability (she tells me) to have more than a social gacquaintanceahip with a girl or boy.

She says she is Just a mem- ber of organizations. not really one of the group. She is never included in special doings. like going downtown with the girls. or doublsdating with other stu- dents. Her only dates are blind dates for dances that all must and someone has to la a very fine girl with high ideals; average in looks e a little too heavy. I think. Many times I've suggested she ask one or two friends to dinner or the movies. but she says she doesn't know anyone that well.

She is undecided what her col- lege major is to be: she is inter- ested in acholaailcs generally but not in any specific subject. She blames her present, plight partly on me. She has been in my care since her mother died. when Paula was five. My hus- bandland I have been parents to her and she loves our home.

Very Serious And Reserved

Paula always has been very sensible, serious and reserved; and during her last two years in high school - when she had no intimate girl friends and never

a beau - I did try to push her

a little. I had several small par- ties for her (all girls). and I don't know if this did more harm than good. NU heart almost breaks at times because of her

done my duty by her. Now I see all this is out of my reach; I can't help her at col-

lege for l donlt. know her ac- quaintances. Usually she is very

busy with studies, but still she can see the needs she is unable to meet. Is there anything I can do? Or any reading, or any course at. college. that might help her? She says she is always ner- vous with people. -
