There is a terrific amount of traffic over this road during the Spring and Fall months. Why it is not rebuilt is the 61-dollar question.

A group of friends gathered at the home of Mrs. Margaret Mac- Donald, Mt. Stewart, on April 2nd to Join with her in celebrating her birthday. Mrs. MacDonld. known more familiarly by young and old alike as “Ma". is one of the com- munity‘: most beloved and re- spected citizens. Throughout the ages mankind have loved and re- spected their mothers, hence when a. lady of any community is thus dengnated by all as "Ma", it speaks volumes for her kindness. her understanding. her love. Heart- lest greetings are extended to Mrs. MacDonald and trust that "Ma“ will be spared to EH10)’ scores more of such celebrations.

The large hall in Mount Stewart. formerly owned by the local branch of the Canadian Legion. is now owned and will be operated by a newly formed local company. The fear that the village might be left without any public hall has thus been removed. Much credit is due the broadminded personnel of this new company who have stepped into the breach and thus avoided what could have become a rather trying situation. Every community should have a public hell if its so- cial life is to keep pace with the demands of its youth. Mt. Stew- art will see that its youth are well served.

It is pleasing to note that the condition of Mr. John Pigott, well known and successful farmer of Savage Harbour. continues to im- prove. and it is sincerely hoped by a host of friends that very soon he will have regained his full meas- ure of health.
