This machine, a 2-row Dahlman potato combine. is manufactured in Minnesota, U.S.A.. and has been purchased by Mr. Lorne MacFar- lane who has also ordered a. sin- gle row combine which is being shipped to him from the factory today.

interview with a Guardian repre- sentative last evening said that. taking into consideration the heavy yield. and shorter rows and headland on Island farms, the machine should dig from 12 to 15 acres per day. He said the exact acreagei that could be dug would depend on the soil and the condi- tion of the potato field. but on an average one should expect a 200-bushel load to come out of the field every 20 minutes.

Mr. Foster Bucher who accom- panied the machine here and who is in charge of its operation. said that on a. machine exactly like the one he is operating here. he had dug as many as 23 acres in one day on his farm in North Dakota in the heart of one of the bjigsgist potato growing areas in

Organize Young Conservatives In Second Prince

At a well Attended meeting in the Town Pull in 0'Lesry on Tuesday evening, September 16th, young people representing every poll in the 2nd District of Prince County gathered to organize a Young Progressive Conservative Group in that district.

Guest speakers included George Key. Jr., president of the Young Progressive Conservative Group in the 5th District of Prince; And W. Chester 8. MacDonald. 1st vice president of the provincial or- ganization of the Y.P.C.'s.

Mr. Key explained the purpose in organizing the young people of the Province to take an active in- tercst in political affairs.

Mr. MacDonald announced that the annual provincial convention of tho Y.P.C.'A will be held at Summersldw. October ilth and hop- ed for a large representation from the newly organized group. He extended an offer of Assistance from provincial headquarters to study groups in their study of the Provincial Election Act.

The next meeting of the new organization will be held on Octo- ber Dth. when Mr. Donald Hues- ton, national executive secretary of the Y.P.C.'s will be present.
