A welcome to Mr. Turnbull was tendered on behalf of the city by Mayor MacDonald, who said tihere was no doubt that Charlottetown needed a new Dominion Govem- iment building which would include a new post office. He expressed the hope that the Federal author- lties would keep the City Council lnfonned on this subject, about which he had heard a. lot of "runrblhigs."

Iliil Pickle . A Factory To Operate liere

The first dill pickle factory iri the Province starts operating at Maple Hills today when the Matthew-Wells Company begin packing into jars the thousands of tons of cucumbers which they had purchased at their Charlottetown processing plant this fall.

The dill pickles will be shipped from Charlottetown to buyers across Canada.

The building in which the Com- pany will conduct its operations has been rented from the Depart- ment of Reconstruction with Mr. J. F. Connolly, deputy-minister of reconstruction conducting the negotiations for the Government. Formerly the community hall at the airport, the building is 120 feet long and so feet wide.
