Second Heat: There was no cat- ching Janette Dale. She took the field away on the second score and was never headed. Coming by the half it was Janette, C. Al- bert Budlon; Billy Conn, Mickey Budlong and Nellie Worthy and they finished in the same order. C. Albert and Billy Conn both tried the leaders in the stretch but were still a length and s half back at the wire.

Third Heat: Coming on with terrific speed from the seven- clghths pole Janette Dale made it a straight heat victory by catch- ing Nellie Worthy just ati the ivire. C. Albert Budlong. Mickey Budlong and Billy Conn were bunched at the half but breaks by C. Albert and Mickey put them out of the running. Nellie Wor- thy paced into the picture at the three-quarters, showing ahead of Billy. Nellie looked to have the heat won ten yards from the wire but Janette made the grade in the last few strides to win by a nose.

Junior Pree-For-All

First Heat: The mile produced another upset as driver Joe 0'- Drien took Rnea Mae out at the half to head Guy Law to the wire in another izrcat stretch battle. The Walnut Abbe had the rail going away and led her field a- round oy the half. At the turn O'Brien took the winner out in front to make every post a win- ning one. But the horses all bunched at the top of the stretch made a pretty sight as they came pounding down the stretch in chase of Rhcn Mae. but there was no catching lzer. Gay Lav: moving up to second a half length hack of the leader. with Royal at Law ‘hird. Doctor: B. Grattan fourth and the other four just a couple of lengths back.

Second Heat: It was another blazing finish with Gay Law show- ing terrific speed in the stretch beating Kavola out. by half a length. Rhea Mae led the ileld around by the stands and up the brickstretuh but. lost the lead when Kavola, showing sensational speed paced by four horses to lead at the three quarters but she yielded to Gay Law's closing spurt. Jean Henley was third a length back, Royal At Law fourth. Rhea Mae fifth, with Doctor B. Grattari, Al- cyone and The Walnut Abbe in ihat order.

Third Heat: It. was Gay Law who paced off with the heat. com- ing from the three quarters to open up a big gap and win hand- ily. Strung out at the first half. ir. was Royal At Law followed by Rhea Mae and Gay Law. On the back side the second time Kavola opened out. iirst but Gay Law. also pulling out, paced to the front to stay there. Iiavola and Royal At Law ‘nad a neck and ncck duel for second with the. latter win- n‘ng. Rhea Mae was fourth. Doc- tor B. Grattnn fifth. and Jean Henley. Walnut Abbe and Alcyone in that order.
