the Maritime Boards of Trade. The organization was known as such until 1950 when. with the entry of the Newfoundland Board of Trade, the title was changed to include the word "Provinces"- and embrace all four Maritime Provinces. . .
The first president was the late A. M. Bell of .Halifax and the group consisted of ten affiliated Boards from the three original Provinces. These ten were Halifax, Saint John. Char- lotteto n., Amherst, Fredericton, Moncto Sydney. Kentville, Truro and Yarmouth.
The preslderfcy rotates each year by Provinces and until this year the secretaryshig was a vol- untary oiflce filled y represent- atives of the Halifax and Saint John B 0 ar ds - the founding Boards. In January of this year, however, there was brought into being an integration of the func- tions of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce.and the M.P.B.T., which has since come into effect

years, yet. when health permitted. he took an active part in the farm duties as well as a keen interest in church and community activities. His passing thus came as a shock to relatives and friends.
He 'was a faithful member of Brackiey United Church and for many years enjoyed the privileges of an officer of the Board of Ste- wards. An honest and honorable man, just in his dealings, 3 aevm- ed husband and father, he will be greatly missed in home, church and community. '
These are left to mourn, besides his sorrowing widow, nee Bessie Ethel Rodd. one son Allison, on the homestead, three daughters: Karel (Mrs. Herman Masher) or Harrington. Ethel (Mrs Ivan Bry- enton) of Buckley, Doris (Mrs. Iteith Cudinore of Brackley, and fourteen grandchildren. One bro- ther, Percy Bryenton. and a sister. Pearl (Mrs.' arty Giles) both of Calgary. Alta:, also survive. .
The funeral service was held on Sunday, September 7th, from his late residence. The many floral tributes spoke of the esteem in which he" was held. and friends and relatives came from sommun- ities far and near to pay their final tribute of respect. l-lis pastor, Rev. J. M. spmuls of York, spoke very fittingly on the attributes of the late Mr. Bryenton in a message of comfort and hope to the bereaved family. Rev. Thomas Wilson of Covehead read the 23rd Psalm.
