STANDING THE HEAT.

When hot weather comes along one of the first thoughts that nat- urally arises ls just what changes you should make in your diet.

The hot weather has made some of your usual articles of diet seem out of place. you feel that they will be too heavy. too heating.

Now this idea of changing the diet somewhat is good sense all right, but it can be overdone.

In your endeavor to select suit- able foods for the hot weather, you look around for something that will be light and pleasing to the eye and appetite. '

You will naturally think of fruits as good summer foods, and so they are. but an over-abundance of fruit, raw fruits. except perhaps oranges. can cause diarrhoea and this can make you feel so weak that the heat “gets" you more than ever.

Often also an over-abundance of fruits and starchy foods will create so much heat that the skin becomes very "itchy," and what may at first be a little “pricky heat" becomes by continuous scratching a real case of
