On Wednesday evening, March 4th., the members of Baltic wom- en’s Institute entertained the members of Indian River Wom- en’s Institute at the home of Mrs. Bruce Riley. Each institute held their business portion of the meeting separately after which the program was shared by both Institutes. A .most interesting fpanel dscussion on Education was presented by Miss Dodnalda MacDonald. .Two very interestinz Ftontests were presented by Mrs. Thomas Humphrey with the win ners being Mrs Daniel Nobnan and Mrs..James Wall. A ‘riddle contest was presented by Mrs. Edgar Mathews and Mrs. Hub- ert Gillis was the winner. Bingo was then played and Mrs. Keith Mann was the lucky Winner.

Off the job, she is a director of the Ottawa District Credit Un- ion Chapter and chairman of | its insurance information committee. In that capacity, Miss‘ Driscol! attended the recent second annual conference of chapter area re- presentatives in Hamilton.

The conference is part of . the policyowners’ representative pro- gram and of a two-way educa- tional program designed to help credit unions and their members understand and benefit from ser- vices provided by the credit un- ion owned and operated CUNA Mutual Insurance Society.

Supposing an individual had $500 on share with his credit union, subsequently borrowed $1,- 000 and was killed shortly after- wards. If his credit union was a CUNA policyowner, his $1.000 loan would be wiped out and his $500 on shares would be ‘doubléd so that $1,000 would go to his estate.

Miss Driscoll was one of the founders of St. Joseph's parish credit union some eight years ago and has served on its credit committee. This is her second year as i -urance information chairman of the Ottawa Chapter and she is the only woman among the nine directors.
