A hearty welcome was extended to all delegates to the Maritime Convention of the Churches of Christ which opened last night at the central christian Church here. Rev. M. D. Dunbar, local pastor. greeted the visitors and conducts the opening worship service.

Approximately 150 were present for the beginning of the conven- tion and this number is expected to be greatly increased before the end on Sunday night. Presiding at the opening last night was Mir. SHARKS CAUGHT-A pair of sharks weighing 700 and 500 pounds each were caught off Rustico this week by two fisher- men using a makeshift. clothes- lin-c with cod hooks attached. The fishermen, two brothers. Joseph and Richard Gauthier. Rustico. had noticed the sharks alter the mackerel for several days. The larger shark was 9 feet long while the other meas- ured 7 fcet. After they were killed the big fish were towed to harbour where over 150 pounds of liver was taken from them.

JIENOVATING I-IANGAR-The first step leading towards the servicing of R. C. A. F. aircraft by the Maritime Central Air- ways will be taken today when workmen of the County Construc- tion Company begin renovation of Han-gar A at the airport.
