WHEREAS the General Assembly of this Island stands prorogued until Thursday, the Fourteenth day of N ovem- ber, instant: I have thought fit, by and with the advice of Her

Majesty’s Executive Council, further to prorogue the said General

Assembly, and the same is hereby. prorogued until THURSDAY,

the Nineteenth day of DECEMBER next, of which all persons

concerned are required to take notice and govern themselves accordingly.

Given under my hand and the Great Seal of this Island, at Charlotte- town, in the said Island, this Thirteenth day of November, in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and sixty-seven, and in the 'l‘hirtyjirst year of Her Majesty’s reign.

HEREAS Almighty God, in His unbounded goodness and mercy, has been pleased to vouchsafe unto us the inestim- able blessing of a plentiful harvest: I have thought proper, by and with the advice of Her Majesty’s Executive Council, to issue this my Proclamation, enjoining that 3. GENERAL THANKS- GIVING to Almighty God for that, his great Mercy, be observed throughout this Island on THURSDAY, the Fifth day of Decem- ber next.

And I do entreat that the said day of Public Thanksgiving be reverently and devoutly observed by all Her Majesty’s subjects within this Island, as they value the favor of Almighty God; and-that all Ministers do hold public Service in their reSpective Churches and Chapels on that (lay.

Given under my hand and the Great Seal of this Island, at Char- lottetown, in the said Island, this Seventh day of November, in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and sixty-seven, and in the thirtyjirst year of Her Majesty’s reign.

WHEREAS by a Resolution of the House of Assembly, passed 0“ the 14th day Of APP“, 1863. it was resolved that the initiation of all money votes should be with the Executive :

Notice is hereby given that all applications for Money Grants for Roads, Bridges, Wharfs, &c., and all petitions for grants in aid of any object whatsoever, which parties may desire to submit to the Legislature at its next annual Session, are required to be sent into this Oﬂice on or before the First day Of February, 1868- '

i '18 Excellency the Lieutenant Governor in Council has been pleased to make the followiﬂg appointments, viz:——

The Hon. Francis Kelly and Edward Reilly, Esquire, to be Members of the Board of Education, in the place of the Reverend George Sutherland and the Reverend Matthew Richey, who have left the Island.

Mr. Michael Hessian to be a Commissioner for the recovery of Small Debts for the Court at Georgetown, in the place of William Wightman, Esquire, resigned.

Mr. William S. Longworth, of Charlottetown, and Mr. James MacDonald, of Little Pond, Township No. 56, to be Preventive Ofﬁcers and Land-waiters, in terms of the Act of 19th Victoria, Cap. 1.

Ma Henry Clay to be Assayer of Weights and Measures for Dundas, in the place of Mr. George H. Wise, resigned.

.Mr. James Leard to be Wharﬁnger for the Wharf at Howat’s Shore, at Tryon, in terms of the Act of 18th Victoria, Cap. 13.

Mr. Malcolm Montgomery, of Douse’s Road, Township N o. 57, to be a Justice ofthe Peace for Queen’s County.

TENDERS.

Tenders for Dredging the Soutllport and Charlottetown sides of Charlotte. town Ferry.

*EPARATE Tenders are required to be sent into the Colonial

Secretary's Oliice, on or before THURSDAY, the Fourteenth day of January next, at twelve o’clock, noon, by any person or company who may be willing to contract with the Government to perform the three following works, that is to say :—

lst. To dredge the Southport side of the CharlottetownE Ferry, as followsz—A channel to be cut through the ﬂats from the main channel to the landing slip at the Southport side 3 the ﬁrst 150 feet, leading from the main channel, to be dredged out 3 feet deep, and 60 feet wide.

2ndly. The remaining distance up to the outer edge of the stationary Wharf and under the Floating Blocks, (supposed to be about 400 feet), to be dredged out 2 feet deep throughout, and 60 feet wide, up to the docks, and from side to side ivithin the docks.

3rdly. The public docks, on the Charlottetown side of said Ferry, to be dredged out and deepened in same manner from side to side, three feet deep at the least, from the end of the slip to the channel.

The above works to be respectively completed, to the satis. faction of the Superintendent of Public Works, or other person or persons appointed by the Government to inspect the same on or before the First day of October, A'. D. 1868. ’

The soil dredged out to be removed and deposited in such a place as not to obstruct the navigation of the Hillsboro’ or other rivers.

Tenders to be accompanied by the names of two sufﬁcient securities for the due performance of the above Contracts.

The Government is not to be considered as bOund to accept
