Fire. — The alarm this morning about nine o’clock, was for a fire in a house on King Street, near Pownal. The fire was in the wal! near the chimney, and wes evidently caused by a defective flue. The damage done did- not amount to very mnch, The firemen promptly responded to the call to duty.

Sapiy Arriicreo Famity.—An sfflicted house is that of Mr. Albert Palmer’e at Sackville. They have lost two sons with in a week of diphtheria, one twelve years of age and the other fifteen. Mr. Palmer is tick with the disease himeelf and almost heart-broken. The one who died on Sun- day morning makes three sons who have died within a few months.
