oblem of getting foods for the

This season all that is changed. The only thing showing no im- provement is t-he level of prices.

Last year's homemade decorat- ions are being used again in our Maura flat on colorful Kinnertosil Street-dint from choice rather‘ than necessity. Electric lights tor the tree still are uncrbtain- able but one can find almost any- thing else.

Christmas cards. gilt wrapping paper in bright colors. stickers for parcels.‘ and Chrishnoas crack- sra are available in profusion. candles for the Christmas table and the mantel aan be iound in almost any store and hofly and mistletoe are on Illa, althotllh rather costly.

Most people will have to ills beefl-lursib or some other substi- tute for turkey as their .ntain course. But there is more turkey than last year-at 5o‘ 6d $0.10) a pound. Fruit Moe is scarce but fruit is plentiiul inellidinfl some grapslrult and oranges and even cranberries from the United Stat- es although ‘is ($1.40) a pound is l bit rough.
