On Wednesday night the South- port hockey team took revenge on the Bison Bombers for their pre- vlous defeat of 5-0 by giving them a trimming to the tune of 12-2. The much strengthened Southport team proved their superiority by holding the game in the opponents zone the greater part o! the game. but the local team fought back gamely and missed almost sure goals. Although the game started off slowly it soon gathered speed, so that by the third period the large crowd of fans were seeing a game that was pleasing to watch.

The first direct air shipment of Canadian cattle to Europe left Malton March I It consisted . of twelve richly-bred purebred Hol- stelns. seven bulls and five heifers. Accompanying the cattle were G. M. (demons, Secretary of the Hol- atoin-hiesiasr Association of Care- ada. and Albert SMI- Oakville. Ont. They will spend a month studying the possibilities of devel- oping. a large scale market for Can- adian Holstoins in Italy. So reads the story cf two R. C. M. P. officers. lost for 1B days in Canada's sub-Arctic, whose rescue was announced by R. C. M. P. and army headquarters last night.
Even as the rescue was an- nounced. a mercy flight was un- dorway in another part of the north to aid two Eskimo children mangled by dogs.
