Doubtless, if such a system of lifexsaving equipment was brought into use by the government of Canada, its adoption by the maritime nations would be only & question of a very limited tame. This; matter was brought to the personal attention of the responsible minister nearly two years ago. He has been importuned at intervals since, but virtually no results bave followed. Several influential men have expressed their appreciation of the efforts of the writer, but so far these efforts have been barren of results. The writer seeks no profit or reward, and expects abuse and misrepresentation ; however, public opinion is stronger than governments. Will the
