re are many such tales but this one concerns the treasure at Blue's Cove in the West River area. and I have to thank Pre- mier Walter Show for permission to take it from his “Saga of a Comunity", an interesting manuscript he has written on his be- loved St. Catherines and vicinity. At the moment of writing them is still an element of doubt as to the real situation. All poli- tical parties had in their plat- form some matters which if implemented would be of con- siderable value to agriculture. Conversely they also had pro- posals which would be difficult to implement and others which if they were could produce real complications.

DAIRY MATTERS

Indifferent weather and bad travelling influenced the atten- dance at the 64th annual meet- ig of the Dairymen's Associa- tion but it was still one of the best annual meetings with good participation and the business being expeditiomly handled. It is quite obvious that there is a clash of opinion between the processing side of the industry and government people on the question as moving into a balanced posi- tion and should be thinking of increased production at this time. Certainly nearly every dairy plant in Canada has the capa- city to handle more product and would like to do so. The dairy farmer Is in between the two and his potential for inert-as;

Retired Former J.W. Sheen, Dies

KENSINGTON — A w ell- known and highly respected re- tired farmer, Joseph W. Sheen. 79, died Wednesday at the P.E. Island Hospital where he had been a patient for the past 10

ays. Except for a brief interval In Western Canada. he was

long resident of Kensin gton where he was a member of St. Mark’s Anglican Church and of the Masonic Lodge.

Mr. Sheen was the last of a family of five brothers and one sister and was married to Car- rie Woodside, formerly of Kam- ilton, who survives him.

Funeral service will be held Friday at 2 pm. at St. Mark's Church, Kensington.
