By Guardian's Special Wire) SAINT JOHN, N. 3., Jan. 11- Launching the first game of a lo- cal, two-team exhibition schedule, Beavers and Ail-stars treated a small crowd tonight to what was generally termed the best and fast- est hockey ever seen on Saint John ice. All-stars, shooting five goals during a third-period surge, won 0-8. The Allqstars consist of inelig- ibles culled from former ranks of Moncton Hawks sud Charlottetown Abegweits in the late Maritime Mercantile Hockey League. "Bink" Medinski, formerly with Moncion Hawks, was the only new player used tonight by Beavers, whose heavy list of iueiigibles prevented them from rejoining Halifax, Moncton and Charlottetown in competition looking toward the Allan Cup. Walter Morison ficored two of the Beaver goals and assisted Alex Archer for the‘ third. "Dizzy" Des- ilets had the only unassisted tally of the night. 1-1e scored again, with the help of "Nig" Brenneman, and assisted two other counters. Ray Getliffe also shot two goals.
