TORONTO. Aug. 18-(CF)-Com stable Ed Whittaker was charged with armed robbery today after armed men forced two police- men from their patrol car and drove away in it. Three other men were taken into custody in

Later, the car stopped,and the two officers approached it to question the occupants.

Const. Marshall reached for his gun but a man in the back seat beat him to the draw. The men piled out of the car and ordered the two officers to walk into some bushes.
