It argues well for the quick discernment and prac- tical ability of the administration led by the Hon. Neil McLeod that they took advan- tage of the presence of Sir Douglas Fox's consulting engineer, and enabled him, by the aid of our own geologist, to obtain ac- curate data upon which to base an estimate. This is a point to be remembered-—a fact to be placed to the credit ef the the Govern- ment of the day.
