I reach out my hand to accept Brad i*t’s offer to dance. I can almost touch im, when suddenly the school bell is

inging.

No, wait that is not the school bell it s the fire alarm. In slow motion I wake p. Shoes...I know they are here some- here. I slip them on and reach for omething hanging on the back of my loset door. Pants? No, a raincoat. It ill do. I leave my door unlocked and go ut into the hallway.

A number of pajama clad ladies are tanding in the hall, still half asleep. I elp direct them down the hall, while ooking quickly at my watch. I groan inwardly.

The cold air awakens me. More ajama club members are gathered utside. The group slowly moves over to he meeting place. A number of clumps f people are huddled together complain- ng of the cold and the hour. By this time t is 6:30 am — heck of a wake up call. he alarm continues to ring, and we ontinue to complain.

Suddenly there is mass movement and the hordes swarm back into the building. Some people are locked out of their rooms, thankfully my door opens. A glance at my alarm confirms my assertion that I am only going to get one more hour of sleep. I stifle a sigh and vow to enjoy my final hour. It takes a few minutes to warm up and fall asleep.

An hour later, I wake up to my alarm. I hit snooze. I did get some sleep, but unfortunately, Brad Pitt doesn’t reappear in my dreams. I get up, still groggy, and slowly start my day.

Throughout the day, I run into people who have various drill stories. We all agree that 6:30 am is not a good time because some people only had one hour to sleep before getting up, and some couldn’t get to sleep and didn’t even bother trying. Although we complain, we know that fire drills are important, in case one day it is not a drill. The drill was successful, and security was impressed, especially with the head resident not being there and only one officer on duty.

A word of comfort to the first year students who complained about the fire drill -- just be thankful it was not snow- ing!

Yes, we have our new title. Thanks for all the suggestions we received. They were all great, but this one sort of stuck on us.

Okay, first the important stuff -- our annual Halloween party. It will be held in our lounge on the fourth floor of main, October 26th starting at 6:30 pm. There will of course be beverages and some munchies. There will also be prizes for the best costumes so go wild and creative! After the party we will be heading down to the Barn do their annual Halloween pub. Should be a great night for our 52 members and a fun want to gear up for the Halloween.

Also on the 26th, the society will be hosting a reception from 4:00 to 5:00 for Dr. David Keenlyside, the Atlantic provinces’ Archaeologist with the Museum of Civiliza- tion. All are welcome, so if you are inter- ested in this field of study or simply have some questions, drop in. Refreshments will be served.

The position of Sociology Rep. and PR Rep are currently open. If you would be interested in either of these positions or

would like to nominate someone, pass names on to any. member of our exec by Tuesday, October 24th. The choi be made Wednesday October 25th let you know next week who the luc people are. While on the topic of our executive, it was brought to my atten that a mistake was made in last week’ column. Our president is Jennifer not Jennifer Duncan. Although quo saying ‘‘I’m not in it for the fame ani fortune,’’ I still thought that I’d menti Sorry Jen.
