He passed the night comfert- ably, sleeping vatil three o'clock, when he was Wakeiul for two hours, during which his pulse rose to 120, but witheut the marked elevation of temperature which hes characterized fevrile disturbanee heretc- fore. After this he slept until morniog More nourishinent was given during the night than for several nights past. In re- viewing the ease since his arrival at Long Braneh, it may be said that in spite of various scep'ic accidents which have for several weeke, auc do still complicate his case, he has certainly not retrograded, but en the contrary has made some progress to- wards convales:ence.

The Stallion race for $10,000 was won by Santa Claus, Piedmont second, Wedgewood third; best time 2-17}. Only three started; the others were drawn on account of lame- ness. Santa Claus was entered by Hickcock, the owner of 8:. Julien.

The running race for $1,900 was won by Mattie Hunter, the best time being 2.164. The attempt of Mane Tricket to beat her time, (2 17j) was a success, her best time being 2.16.

The doubdle tsam Mill Boy and Blondine trotted against the best double team record (2.23}), but they only made their best mile in 2.23. St. Julien exhibited but did not trot.

GREAT BRITAIN AND [RELAND. Duszuin, Sept. 15.

The Land League Convention will be composed of about 1,500 delegates from all parts of the country. Its promoters boast it will be a far mere representative assembly than the old Irish parliament.

Immediately after the Dublin Conven- tion a series of monster land meetings will be commenced. The first will be held at Irishtown, on Sunday, on the very spot where Michael Davitt inaugurated the Land League movement in 1879. Parnell will preside.

The Exhibition committee includes Jus- tice Fitzgerald, Duke of Leinster, Lord O’ Hagan and «large number of members of Parliament and Justices of the Peace. Despite the obstruction of the Land League it is believed that the Exhibition will be successful. Archbishop McCabe subscrib- ed £10 towards the Exhibition.

About 1,000 delegates were present at the opening of the National Convention, te-day, inolucing twenty-one members of Parliament. Purnell presided, and made a vigorous speowh denouncing the Land Act. He advised firmers to borrow money nun- der the Act tc give work to laborers, and pledge:l siruse i to head the laborers’ move- ment, :f the farmers did not give them fair
