The planting of an English oak by the Gov- ernor General at the Farm recalls the many- other planting ceremonies of this kind in con-l nection with vice regal visits. The list of names and dates appears in today's news columns. Some of the earlier trees planted are now full grown, and spread majestic branches. All are in excellent condition, but there is no doubt that the chief attraction is the magnificent flower garden. Our citizens, while taking pride in having such a fine show-place near the city for distinguished visitors, would perhaps do well to visit the Form more frequently themselves.

That leads us to a conclusion we had in mind in starting out. One of the advantages accruing from visits by distinguished people is that we see our Island attractions afresh through their eyes, and—if we are wise-come to value them the more.
