Downtown turned out to be the only double-dash winner on last night‘s nine-dash racing card at the local Driving Park. The chestnut horse is owned and driven by John Bernard of Hun- ter River. He did the first mile in 2:13 and on the second trip around went 2:13/1.

The fastest mile on the card was paced by Jolly Jim, in 2:12/4 in the eighth dash. In the fourth dash Jolly Jim came out in front at‘ the wire but was set back for swerving and this plac- ed Jolly Dick on top.
