The primary reason for this need of information by the public is the fact that so many homes have not kep! their wiring in line with the addition of new appli- ances. This of course means that when a new appliance is plugged in, for which the wiring is not adequate, the fuse, or safety val- ve, blows. This is a 15 amp. fuse, but the homeowner discovers that if he replaces it with a 25 or even a 30 amp fuse the ap- liance will operate.

SAFETY VALVES :

What he does not realize is, that he has dispensed with the safety valve of -his electrical sys-
