TV Reception

-Television pictures are being clearly received in at least two places in P..EI. from the newly opened station in saint John. NB.

It was learned yesterday that a television received installed in Jelly'e department store in 0'- Leary, by Mr. George Matheson. who is in charge of the radio de- pertinent of that aim. has been receiving pictures from the saint John station since Tuesday even- ing.

Their receiver is using a temp- orary 25-foot antenna,-while wait-- ing for one of 40 feet in height which has been ordered.

At Ralph Callbacks general store in Central Bedeque. the manager of the radio department. Mr. Arthurlhdurray, last evening completed alterations to the an- tenna locatcd on top of the store. and was successful in receiving a continuous and good clear P16- ture.

In North River last evening Mr. Wendell May.hew. of Mayhew's Radio Service. was busy erecting a 40-foot enutenna on the roof of his home. after the encouragement of receiving sound without picture from an antenna located inside the house.

Mi-. Mayhew has been experi- menting with a television receiver for almost a year at his radio ser- vice building in Crapaud. and previous to the opening of the Saint John station had intermit- tently received sound on several occasions.

Palmer- Burns Wedding

Engaging much interest in Air Force and Maritime circles, a love- ly wedding took place on February 26 in the R.C.A.F. chapel Summer- side, P. E. 1., when Shirley Marie eldest daughter of Squadron Leader Thomas M. and Mrs, Burns. was united in marriage with Donald Weldon Palmer. son of Mrs. Weldon Palmer and the late Mr. Weldon Palmer of Moncton. N.B. The double ring ceremony was per- formed by Squadron Leader the Rev. R. P. Condon in the presence of seventy-five guests.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a powder blue wool suit with navy accessories and 'a corsage of white can-rations and stephonotis. Her sister, Patricia. attended her gowned in navy taffeta with gray accessories and a corsage of deep pink roses.

The groom was attended by his cousin, Robert Perkin, student at Dalhousie Medical College. Usher- ing were Thomas Burns Jr.. and Robert Baldrey. Mrs, George Stone presided at the organ and during the signing of the register LAW Jess Alcorn sang "O Promise: Me."
