On Friday, November 6, 1992, U.P.E.I. Student Union will be opening nominations for By -Elections. Forms will be available at the Student Union at 9:00 am from November until November 20. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the office between 9:00 am - 4:00 pm, Monday to Friday (566-0503).

STUDENT COUNCIL EXECUTIVE POSITIONS: President Vice-President Internal

STUDENT COUNCIL POSITIONS: Ombudsperson Senate Rep.

CLASS EXECUTIVE:

(President, Vice-President, Treasurer/Secretary) Freshman

Senior (Treasurer/Secretary only)

For those of you who are wondering what any of these people do, I’ll give a short description of each.

PRESIDENT:

The President shall:

- Be the chief executive and official spokesperson of the Union - Call meetings of the Executive committee

- Draft and propose a schedule of proposed council meeting dates and general meeting dates

- Be a member of Senate

- Perform such other duties as required

- This is a full-time summer fob to prepare for the following academic year

VICE-PRESIDENT INTERNAL:

The VP Internal shall:

- Promote active communications between the Student Bod and the elected officials, employees, and-volunteers of th Union

- Assist the President in ensuring that adequate communicatio is maintained between the University administration and th Union

- Serve as direct liaison with the department of Student Sern ices

- Oversee the operations of the yearbook, DewAnSaEt, and th

radio station

OMBUDSPERSON:

- The Ombudsperson shall:

- Be elected for a term of one year

- Endeavour to aid any member of the UPEISU who encounter difficulties with the University and/or the UPEISU

- Inform students as to what recourse is available for prominen student concerns on campus and publicize this recourse throug campus media ~

- Bea non-voting member of Council

- Be entitled to attend any meeting of the UPEISU includin; meetings which are ordinarily considered confidential, such a Hirings and Selection, Executive, or special investigator meetings

- Be entitled access to the files, business reports and financia records of the UPEISU

- Not assume any other position on campus during office tenu

CLASS EXECUTIVES

SENIOR: Senior class executive shall be responsible fo organizing activities and raising funds for Senior Week of th graduation year

ALL OTHER EXECUTIVES: Shall raise money to plan fo! their graduation year. Junior class also assists with Senio Week activities
