There was a youngish man whose name she did not catch. and the young woman who stared at her. Mrs. Payne. Chase had called her. She was quite beautiful with indolent- ly drooping yes. Georgetown Home And School Annual Meeting

The annual meeting of the Georgetown Home and School As- sociation was held in the Council Chambers on Thursday. June lst. at 8.30 p.m. There were 22 mem" bers present. After the singing or "0 Canada". the president. Mrs. Myrtle Babineau, welcomed the new members who were in attend- ance. She then called on the sec- retary to read the minutes of the preceding meeting. The minules were approved as read. Mrs. Bab- ineau then reported that the Singer Sewing Machine Co. intend to offer some courses in sewing and will announce their plans for these at a later date. Mrs. Neil Wight reported for the member- ship committee.

There was no report from the entertain- ment committee.

Sinoe there was some confusion about the term of office in the or- ganization, the following change was made in the by-laws: By-law No. 6 of the Constitution was am- ended to read as follows: "The term of office for all officers of the organization shall be for one year, provided. however. that the term of office of the original slate of officers shall expire at the first annual meeting." This amendment was moved by Mr. J. A. 8. Mac- Connell and seconded by Mrs. William Murphy. Motion carried.

The nominating committee then submitted it's report. The presi- dent asked for nominations for the office of president. The nominat- ing committee offered the name of Mrs. Myrtle Babineau to be re-elected as president. There be- ing no further nominations for the office of president, Mrs. Bab- ineau was duly re-elected. on mo- lion by Mrs. William Murphy, sec- onded by Mrs. Agnes Murphy. Motion carried.

The name of Mr. J. H. MacDon- ald was submitted by the nomin- ating committee for the office of vice-president. There being no further nominations for this office. Mr. MacDonald was duly elected as vice-president on motion by Mrs. William Murphy. seconded by Mrs. Mary Yorston. For the office of secretary-treasurer the nomin- ating committee submitted the name of Mr. J. B. Scully, in be re-elected to this office. There being no other nominations for this office. Mr. Scully waa duly elected as secretary-treasurer, on motion by Mrs. William Murphy. seconded by Mrs. A. Stewart.

In order to clarify the appoint- ments to the executive committee the following amendment was made to By-law No. 5 of the Con- stltutlon: ”Instead of one member of the school staff. now read, one member of the school staff to be appointed by the teachers. Also instead of one member of the School Board, now read one mem- ber of the School Board to be ap- pointed by the trustees." This am- endment was moved by Mr. J. A. B. Macconnell. seconded by Miss Rita Wight.

The secretary-treasurer then submitted the financial statement which was adopted. on motion by Mrs. H. Larsen. seconded by Mrs. Mary Yorsfon. Motion carried. Since there were no questions in the Question Box. Miss Wight re- viewed fhose that had been re- ceived 'at previous meetings. She added further that fire-drills had been satisfactorily carried out in the school. Kings county Branch Fish And Game

The second meeting for the or- ganization of the King's Couniy branch of the P. E. 1. Fish and Game Protective Association was held -in Sourls on Tuesday night, presided over by the president, Mr. Cyril Johnston. This meeting was a follow-up of the first meet- ing held in Montague a few weeks ago. and was for the purpose of electing the six directors from the north section of the county.

Mr. Stewart Jones. president of the provincial association outlined the history of the parent associ- ation. stating that some 35 years ago Souris had a branch organized in that locality. During the past few years, he said. it had become more apparent that county'bran- ches should be formed, and this had been brought to pass with the formation of one in King's County, the others having been completed some time ago. An all- out effort should be made to ob- tain as many members as possible. thereby giving the organization a greater influence in the making of decisions. The old executive is to retire within a short period. and a new one formed composing mem- bers from the county branches.

Urges Support

Mr. P. Mclnllan urged everyone to support the Fish at Game As- sociation which, he stated. could do much to solve many of the ex- isting problems in the county.

Mr. J. A. Rodd slated that if the organization fully represents the district. it is of considerable help to the department, since the views of such an organization are always taken under consideration. Mr. Graham Rogers said that Canada was in a serious condition owing to its depletion in forest resources. and iecessarily in the loss of fishing areas. The loss. he

In continuing the same thought Mr. J. Frank Stern: stated that members could help in this con- servation program through obey- ing the laws and reporting violat- ions so as to ensure such sport for future generations. Mr. Jones said that any such report would be placed before the proper authori- ties. and summarily dealt with.

It was stated that the depart- ment was attempting to establish public angling areas. but since ponds are considered private prop- erly. the owner reserved the right to prohibit or permit fishing.

The ponds in King's Couniy have been well stocked in the past, but it was urged that overstocking was a grave danger. since not suf- ficient food was available for all trout. It was stated that the pre- sent stocking was made with trout rom ihe St. John Hatchery. trout which seem
