Carrying on a policy commenced last year the Y's Men's Club de- livercd boxes of fruit to every patient in the wards of the Prince County Hospital. including the children's ward. The -Y's Men's Club also made donations of holly to all the churches of the town to be used for decorating on Christmas Day.-S

United Church

At the '1'rlnlt.y United Church the Sunday morning and evening ser- vice was conducted by the minister. Rev. K. O. Sullivan, who during the morning service delivered an appropriate sermon taking for his text "God So Loved The World" John 3-16. The musical setting was by Goss. "Behold I Bring You Good Tidings." On Christmas night there was a beautifully presented musical pageant. "Why The Chimes Rang." Rev. K. G. ullivan was the nar- rator and e following members of the congregation comprised the cast: William Schurman. the schol- ar; D.J. MacLeod. the fisherman: Mrs. William -Gallop. rich lady: Harry Bishop. the king: Norman Sheen. pauper boy. Miss Mary Gildhart. the organist. was in charge of all musical settings. On Christmas night the organist was Master 1-lerbert. Crockett. 14-year- old son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Crock- ett. He is a pupil of the organist, Miss'Gcldhart.

Presbyterian Church

At the morning service at the Presbyterian Church cn Sunday the Junior Choir sang two carols, "We Three Kings of Orient Are" and "While Shepherds Watch Their Flock: By Night". The anthems sung by the senior choir were "The First Christmas Mom" and "Christ- ians Awake". The minister. Rev JD: .V.acKay took as his text. "Ami the word was made flesh and dwelt among us". In the evening the ser- vice was by candlelight. The pro- cessloiial was "O Come All Ye Falthfiil". The anthem was "There Is A scng In The Air" and the Junior C-hoir sang. "Away In The Manger". A solo "O Holy Night" was beautifully rendered by Miss Janet Baker and Mrs. Robert Ross and Mrs. Mark Gaudct. Jr. sang a duet. "Silent Night." The con- gregational singlng consisted of Christmas carols. Mrs. Cleve Wha- ion was organist. The text for the evening sermon was "When the fullness of time was".

Baptist Church

At. the Baptist Church the regu- lar Sunday mcrning service was held. The anthems by the choir were "And more Were shepherds" and "Bethlehem". The subject of the sermon by the Rev. W. A. Har- per was "The Road To Christmas". The candlelight service was by the girls of the senior B.Y.P.U. A Christmas carol was sung by a trio consisting of Shirley Poole. Betty Gay and Margaret smith. Mrs. Clarence Mercer sang "The Little Road to Bethlehem" and Miss E112- abeth Harper sang "O Holy Night". A reading "The other Wise Man” by Henry Van Dyke was given by Mrs. W.A. Harper.

Church of Christ

, on Christmas Eve the children of the Church of Christ presented I delightful program in harmony with the good will spirit of Christmas. In verse and song they portrayed the nativity and emphasized its meaning to the hearts of uiristlans. Included in the program were in- dividusl z adings. vocal solos. ducts and trlos and several Chrlmnss anthems especially arranged for children's voices. -- 5

The death occurred at his home in Bummerside on December mm of William Wallace Smith. is well known and highly respected resi- dent of this Town. He was 5 ye rs of age. Born at Charlottetown. he came to suinmcrslde over so years ago and entered the employ of Joseph Read and Co. Ltd., whose service he remained until his recent retirement.

He was married twice. His first wife was the former Miss Mitchell of North Wiltshire. From this marriage two sons survive. Leith with the Canadian National Tele- graphs in Moncton and Robert in Charlottetown. His second wife, who also predeceased him. was the former Desdernona Bulman of New Glasgow. Of this union one son survives. Clifford of Summer- side. Also left to mourn is a gig. her. Mrs. Janie MacKay of New Glasgow. ,

Funeral services will he held this afternoon at. two o'clock from the Bowness Funeral Home. Interment will be in the People's cemetery.
