"A few of the boys got alrsiclt taking off on our night but once we gained altitude the night began to get smooth and the boys be- gan to relax."

"Scoutmaster W. Harding of Lan- caster. N.B. who was In charge of all scouts on the aircraft then is- sued capsules to all the scouts who wanted them for air sickness. The night office then told us we were approximately 9,000 feet or al- most two miles up and were cruis- ing at a speed of 200 miles per hour.

"The boys were getting acquaint- ed by this time and musical in- utruments were being T P out and singing began to fill the plane. This kept up until we reached Gan- der nlr port in Newfoundland.

"It seemed as though the boys disliked the business of landing and taking off an a few of them got sick coming into Gander. How- ever we were allowed forty-five minutes to stretch our legs as the plane had to re-fuel. Soon the boys found the post card and souvenir counter and they kept it busy for the next half hour. Soon the pencils were out and post cards were be- ing sent back home.

"Camuru were next In line and hundreds of photographs were tak- en of the plane and the airport at Gander.

"Then we were back on board and at 5.10 p.m. we began the long hop to England. After we get settled down three of the Scouts at a time were allowed to visit the control room and see how the plane was operated.
