of 1987. The matter was turned over to the CCCC Committee (Cur- riculum, Course Change, and Calendar Committee).

cussed the proposal though it was too late for anything to be done for 1987 April exams.

WHen Steve Wynne took the office of SU presi- dent this year, he contacted

cerning the proposal. Eliot informed him that the re- quest was in the process

of discussion among mem- bers of the CCCC commit- tee. During the last Sen- ate meeting on Oct. 16, the

proposal was put to a vote —

and it was unamimously decided that there be a two day study break before commencement of Exams.

Therefore, April ex- ams will begin Wednesday, April 13 giving students a 4-day break (Sat., Sun., Mon., Tues.) to prepare for finals. .

SIDE EFFECTS

Theatre Bandwagon is producing “Side effects”, a play about women and pharmaceuticals, which will tour to several Island com- munities in. late October and early November.

The seript was originally developed throgh workshops in Ottawa in 1985 by the Great Cana- dian Theatre Company and Health Interac- tion. The characters por- trayed in “Side Effects” are based on women, both in Canada and Bangladesh, who have lived through the experiences dramatised in the play.

This current version is directed by Laurel Smyth and the ast features Mi- caela Bjerke, Greg Dun- ham, Vian Emery, Suna Houghton and karen Smith. Performances will be at the King’s Playhouse in Georgetown .on Wednes- day October 28; the west- isle Composite High school, Thursday October 29; and the Victoria Playhouse on Friday October 30.

“Side Effects” will also be appearing at the Duffy Amphitheatre, UPEI, in Charlottetown on friday and Saturday, November 6

This tour will help pro- mote Mann House and its programs.

“Side Effects”, as well as being an_ educational tool, is an entertainment with elements of drama, comedy and music. .
