Labatts. and the Panther Lounge present weekly 8-ball tournaments on Tuesdays. Weekly prizes will be given out to the top three finishers of the

night and they will qualify for the

grand prize tournament at the end of the semester. Prizes for this tourney will be announced later.

The tournament begins at 7:30 with a free beverage to a maximum of 16 entrants, so be there early! :

Pit Bulls vs Vets in Tournament

The Marian Hall Pit Bulls opened the Winter Carnival Tournament strongly with a 3-0 victory over the Blanchard Hall Hurricanes on Monday, January 23. the starting line accounted for two of Marian’s goals, scored by Chuck“Elastic legs” Keoghan and Greg “the Fly” Flynn. Greg“the Hammer” Will- son, although bothered by a se- vere groin injury, added the final marker. Bert“The Fish” Rona- han recorded his third consecu- tive shutout, with assistance from his defencemen, who are collec- tively known as “the Great Wall of Marian Hall”.

On Wednesday, January 25, the Pit Bulls improved their tournament record to 2-0 with an 8-0 thrashing of the Bets. The Great Wall aided its own cause with a three goal contribu- tion, two off the stick of Brian “John Deere” McCollough and another from Mark“the Block- house” Ronahan. Scott“the Ca- per” Lewis, Greg“the Fly” Flynn, Jim “the Anvil” Comeau, Chuck“Elastic Legs”

Keoughan, and Dean“baby face” Getson rounded out the scor- ing. Bert“The Judge” Ronahan recorded his fourth consecutive shutout. Head coach Don“Won” Gunning, who has been referred © to as the “Al Capone of Mar- — ian Hall,” is pleased with his

that Greg“the Fly” Flynn’s as- sociation with the Black Widow will not affect his players perfor- mance.

One final statistic reported from the Pit Bulls —- Vets game: Todd “Tyson” Byers (Marian Hall) recorded a KO over the mouthy Vet whose bark was ob- viously worse than his bite.

Finally, David“Hansen” Val- ley will return to the lineup after undergoing surgery on Wednes- day. Doctors at Queen Elizabeth Hospital originally believed Val- ley had suffered a hernia as a re- sult of carrying his friend Fran- cis around campus, but it was later learned that his appendix and four vital organs had to be removed.
